Queer Faces Migrant Voices
The goal of the “Queer Faces Migrant Voices” Project is to give young queer migrants and refugees in the Netherlands and Germany voices. During the festival there will be a panel on the project led by Christian Belloni and Antonij Karadjoski. The panel also consist of:
Larry (39) was born on a small Caribbean island in South America. He was the political adviser to the Prime Minister of his country. After his government lost elections he was forced out of public office and was outed in public. As a result, he had to flee his country immediately in 2015.
Safi (32) was born in Karbala in Iraq. He fled his country in 2015 and arrived in the Netherlands after a long and tough journey through Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Hungry, Austria and Germany. He currently lives in Haarlem.
Deyone Milana Guiseppi (Milly) is a Trinidadian born black queer activist, writer, singer and dancer and is herself a transgender woman. In 2013, she fled her homeland for Europe because of the mistreatment she faced due to her transgenderism, and the anti-queer, colonial laws that still exist there.
The project is organized by International Queer and Migrant Film festival, with support from the Fritt Ord Foundation.
