Welcome to Oslo/Fusion 2024

We're thrilled to welcome you to the 34th edition of Oslo/Fusion, Norway's premier LGBTQIA2S+ film festival. This year, we are proud to present over 110 films with queer themes, ranging from heartwarming love stories, hysterical comedies to thought-provoking and hard-hitting documentaries - everything in between.

We kick off the festival with Emma Seligman's insane satire Bottoms, setting the tone for a festival full of diverse and captivating stories. By, about, for and with queer individuals - and those who surround us.

This year's focus on human rights begins of course in Palestine. We have our Free Palestine short film program, followed by a conversation event you do not want to miss. We also showcase films from Hungary, Slovakia, and Russia, highlighting LGBTQIA2S+ rights in regions where queer lives are under threat.

Are you a horror fan? Don't miss The Judgment from Egypt, the short film program Queer Nightmares, and the feature film Handling the Undead.

For those who love variety, we have short film programs that cater to everyone, including many new works from Norwegian filmmakers.
There will also be short films preceding almost every feature length film in the festival this year - with over 80 short films, we could be Oslo's biggest short film festival, too...

I Hope He Doesn't Kill Me. Directors: Lyndon Henley Hanrahan & Nora Dahle Borchgrevink

Of course Oslo/Fusion would not be complete without The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and this year we are excited to offer another exclusive screening: The concert film Blod i Nord, featuring never-before-seen footage from the 90s aids activist era of the band Sadomaoistan and performance group Genitalia.
After this screening at SALT Art & Music on Saturday, we kick off our closing party with guest dj's and the release of a limited edition vinyl from Sadomaoistan's discography (which ain't no disco, it must be said).

Join us at Cinemateket, Vega Scene, and SALT from September 25th to 29th for five days of inspiring films, important discussions, free screenings, and amazing guests.
On Sunday 29th at 19:00 / 7 pm, our jurors will announce this year's award winners before we close the festival with Megan Park's magic mushroom tale MY OLD ASS.

Whether you're here for eye opening documentaries, entertainment for a laugh, or films that evoke deep emotions and resonate with your own experiences, 34. Oslo/Fusion has something for everyone. And you don't even have to be gay to watch a film!

Welcome to Oslo/Fusion 2024 – your gateway to queer cinema in Oslo!
