Synopsis

Retired teacher Lia vowed on her sister's deathbed to find her daughter Tekla, who disappeared years ago. Via the neighbor boy Achi, she learns that Tekla left Georgia and lives in Istanbul, and he insists on showing her the way. Lia reluctantly realizes that she needs help and soon they are heading for the border.

Istanbul is a beautiful and colorful city, full of life and dreams, but finding someone who doesn't want to be found is difficult in an community that protects its own. When they meet Evrim, a lawyer fighting for the rights of trans people and sex workers, who offers to help, both Lia and Achi feel that they are getting closer to Tekla.

Levan Akin's previous film, And Then We Danced (2019), was a huge success, and here he returns to his Georgian roots, giving us a warm and touching drama with strong performances, humor and an authenticity to touch the soul.
