Enzo

France – 2025

16-year-old Enzo grows up in an upper-middle-class family. His parents are understanding, but at the same time have high expectations for Enzo's future and schooling. Enzo defies his parents' wishes to put him on an academic track, and instead starts as an apprentice bricklayer.

The new work environment is rough and demanding, with little margin for error, and although he is in an arena where he can explore himself outside the family framework, he struggles to adapt. After almost getting fired, he is taken under the wing of his older colleague Vlad, a charismatic Ukrainian. The meeting with Vlad becomes a turning point in Enzo's search for identity and detachment.

Laurent Cantet (The Class) wrote the script and was about to start shooting the film when he suddenly died. Cantet's close friend, Robin Campillo (120 Beats Per Minute), took over the directing role, which is why the film was introduced with: A film by Laurent Cantet. Directed by Robin Campillo.
