Closing Night Film: Lady Champagne
Lady Champagne
Lady Champagne catapults the outrageous heroine Champagne White back into action in this irreverent, high-camp sequel to the cult drag hit Shit & Champagne
When exotic dancer and divorcee Champagne Horowitz Jones Dickerson White (“... so she’s been married a couple of times!!”) is wrongfully convicted of murder, she’s shipped off to Lady Prison, a corrupt, for-profit hellhole ruled by sadistic guards and a warden with a God complex. With the system stacked against her, Champagne stages a daring escape and sets out to clear her name.
Filmed entirely in San Francisco and featuring over 80 queer and trans performers, Lady Champagne is a slapstick love letter to 1970s exploitation cinema—equal parts glam, grit, and guerrilla filmmaking. It’s a wild ride through low-budget excess, high-octane action, and unapologetic drag spectacle.
