Venus Xtravaganza became a global trans icon after her appearance in the groundbreaking 1991 documentary Paris Is Burning. Like so many trans women before and after her, Venus was murdered before the film could premiere, and this is the continuation of the story of a cold case as her two families – her biological and ballroom families – come together to find answers and honor her memory.
